What Soniq8 does

Soniq8 identifies songs in YouTube DJ mixes, live sets, and compilations. You paste a YouTube URL, we analyze the audio and return a tracklist with timestamps.

Data we collect

Account data

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this to create and manage your account. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Analysis data

We store the YouTube URLs you submit, the resulting tracklists, and metadata about each analysis (timestamps, confidence scores, song details). This data is tied to your account so you can access your history.

Spotify data

If you connect your Spotify account, we request permission to create playlists on your behalf. We store an access token and refresh token to maintain this connection. We do not access your listening history, saved library, or any other Spotify data beyond what is needed to create playlists.

You can disconnect your Spotify account at any time from your Profile page. When you disconnect, we delete your Spotify tokens and stop all access to your Spotify account.

Usage data

We collect basic usage analytics: pages visited, features used, and error events. This helps us fix bugs and improve the product. We do not use third-party tracking scripts or advertising cookies.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as needed to operate the service (e.g., sending audio to our recognition engine for identification).

Third-party services

  • Google OAuth - for authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Spotify - for playlist creation. Subject to Spotify's Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube - we download audio from public YouTube URLs for analysis. We do not access your YouTube account.

Data retention

Your account data and analysis history are kept as long as your account is active. Temporary audio files used during analysis are deleted automatically after processing.

Data deletion

You can delete your account from the Profile page. This removes your account data, analysis history, and any connected service tokens. If you disconnect Spotify, your Spotify tokens are deleted immediately.

Security

All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. API keys and tokens are stored securely and never exposed in client-side code.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
